Veteran AODA Access Counselor

On April 22, 2024, Walk by Faith Counseling began offering walk-in addiction treatment services for Wisconsin Veterans. These services are facilitated by our onsite Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor and funded through a grant awarded for one year. This Veterans Mental Health Ancillary Treatment Program grant is part of Governor Evers’ $10 million investment to support Wisconsin Veterans, made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Our designated substance use disorder counselor will be available Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Veterans are served on a first-come, first-served basis or by appointment.

Walk by Faith Counseling is an approved facility under Chapter 51 of the Wisconsin Statutes, recognized as a 75.50 Outpatient Integrated Behavioral Health Treatment Service. The addiction services our substance use disorder counselor will offer Wisconsin Veterans include Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse (AODA) assessments, individual and group counseling. Our primary treatment modalities will be Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance Abuse (CBISA) and Motivational Interviewing.

Our goal is to support Wisconsin Veterans in their recovery journey using this funding resource and strengthening our community.
